05.09 The Final Draft

Fashionable Teens and young adults across America have made wearing sneakers into a movement, and have influenced the creation of the sneaker culture. These people are considered to be "sneakerheads".

Originally Collecting sneakers started in the mid 1980's when Nike and Michael Jordan collaborated. Consumers love the team up with the two and kept the sneaker shelves empty. Eventually hip hop artist like RUN DMC started to wear sneakers and the demand for sneakers increased even more. As the years passed more basketball players started to get endorsed by sneaker companies such as Nike, Adidas, and Reebok.

Because teens looked up to these basketball players and hip hop artist they found a way to look somewhat like them, which was sneakers. The sneaker companies took way of this and they started to release exclusive colorways of certain sneakers. These exclusive colorways would be released in limited numbers sometimes as low as 100 pairs throughout the world. When the sneakers are released in these low numbers the buyers feel like they have to be the first to have them so they have what the call a camp out. When the "sneakerheads" camp out for a sneaker they sit outside of the store and wait until the shoe is released. Sometimes campouts can last for a few hours, but some can last for weeks. An example of this when the Titanium Air Jordan XX3 shoes were releasing, They were set to be sold in 23 stores throughout the country and each store only had 23 pairs some of those stores were reported to have buyers camping out for as long as two weeks.

Some sneaker collectors make money off of there collection by buying and reselling sneakers. others say that they could never sell their sneakers because they love them to much. These collectors all collect in different ways and for different reasons and but one thing that is the same with them all is that they all love their sneakers.

Lesson 07.00

Before I started this course my perception of journalism was quite different from what it is now. At first i believed that journalism was a forma entertainment. I thought that all journalist were writers. I knew that journalist had the right of freedom of speech. I had no clue that there was both opinion writing and writing with facts. I was not interested in a career in journalism before this course because I know im not a strong writer and I dislike doing research.
My perception of journalism has changed a lot. I learned that journalism was not only for entertainment but to also to get important information to a mass number of people. I learned That there was Journalism with facts and journalism with opinion. I still am not interested in a career in journalism simply because it does not interest me. The future of journalism is bright.

Getting an Education

Milestone- Have my own magazine

To get to the point of owning my own magazine i would have to go to college and start as a regular photojournalist for a company. After a while i will start to make connections with people which would help me get a magazine. The education i need for this milestone is a bachelors degree in journalism and minor in photography. The steps that i can start taking now is start researching what it takes to have a magazine and finding the right people to help me with it. The amount of time i think it will take me to have my own successful magazine is about 8-10 years after college.

I believe that i have set reasonable goals for myself, they are not outlandish or to far stretched. To write a career plan it makes realize the actual process, and the amount of work that i would have to put in. some people might engage in this type of activity because its their passion and may have always been there dream.

Your Interest Inventory

The position I'm most interested in is a photojournalist. Photojournalism is a particular form of journalism (the collecting, editing, and presenting of news material for publication or broadcast) that creates images in order to tell a news story. It is now usually understood to refer only to still images, but in some cases the term also refers to video used in broadcast journalism. The job is located in Orlando Florida for Brighthouse sports network. The amount expected to made is about $40,000-$50,000 annually. The skills needed are a keen eye, a way with words, and a knack for putting the two together. You must have a steady hand, when holding a camera. The education requirement is at least a bachelors degree in photography. technical experience and a portfolio is required.

5.07 Content Editing and Copyediting

The revising went well, i think it helped me a lot. My revisor pointed out all of my grammar errors and places were it could have came off like bias. the process could have been better if there would have been suggesstions as to what i could replace my errors with.

before you write

My topic that i going to be writing about is Sneakers. I chose this topic because sneakers are of much interest to me, because i've been collecting sneakers for four years now. The main audience for my topic can be to the "sneaker community" which consist of many other collector of sneakers. I could possibly submit my writing to a sneaker blog, or share it with people on my personal blog. The best people to interview for this topic are people from mom and pop sneaker stores, administrators of sneaker blogs and sneaker consumers.

Intro to the writing process.

Writing is important to everybody in this modern day, it is important because it is everywhere in the world. What i mean is In order to communicate or get information to another place a lot of people rely on writing. Some people even have jobs that require them to write everyday such as Lawyers, Journalist, and even police officers.
This is why writing is important.

It is possible to write impartially. It might not be the easiest thing to do but it is definitely possible. it is possible because if a journalist writes all the facts and and leaves his/her opinion out of it impartial writing is guaranteed.

Ethos and Credibility

http://www.cnn.com/2012/01/05/world/meast/iraq-violence/index.html?hpt=wo_c1

Cnn wrote a article about 60 citizens slain in iraq bombings. The bombings were caused by suicide bombers were targeting shiites. The bombings renewed fears of sectarian  violence. The company that wrote this article wich is cnn would be interested in providing impartial accurate news because many people check that site to find news around the world and the people are assuming the news is going to be accurate.

I consider the company to be credible because it is a well known company for providing credible current events. the company has a website and a tv channel which is another reason i consider the company of being credible. The reporter for the article is Jomana Karadsheh. The reporter has an interest in providing acurate because it is her job to do so and if she didn't it would make the company look bad.

The reporter reported witnesses of the attacks which they openly voiced there opinion about it. People of the the military and and of the community were also reported which was good because it showed how it affected the community and what the military thought about it and what they could possibly do. The reporter was sure to use profesional language, she didn't alter the scene of where the bombing happened. You easily see Blood and damage that was caused.

Logic and Fallacies

One time I experienced the correlation and causation fallacy. It happened when I was at walmart with my friends they decided they wanted to shoplift but when i noticed them doing i walked away because i didnt want any part of what they were doing. Although i walked away from them security still assumed i was shoplifting because i walked in with them.

I know this is a logical fallacy because One thing was caused by another. wich was me coming in the store with my friends and then the security assuming I was shoplifting with them. This was a perfect example of correlation and causation.

The situation was resolved when the security told us to empty our pockets. All of my friends except one had a pocket full of things they stole, and of course my pockets were empty. The security let me and my one innocent friend go and they kept my other friends and called the police. I found a new group of friends afterwards.
