Getting an Education

Milestone- Have my own magazine

To get to the point of owning my own magazine i would have to go to college and start as a regular photojournalist for a company. After a while i will start to make connections with people which would help me get a magazine. The education i need for this milestone is a bachelors degree in journalism and minor in photography. The steps that i can start taking now is start researching what it takes to have a magazine and finding the right people to help me with it. The amount of time i think it will take me to have my own successful magazine is about 8-10 years after college.

I believe that i have set reasonable goals for myself, they are not outlandish or to far stretched. To write a career plan it makes realize the actual process, and the amount of work that i would have to put in. some people might engage in this type of activity because its their passion and may have always been there dream.

Your Interest Inventory

The position I'm most interested in is a photojournalist. Photojournalism is a particular form of journalism (the collecting, editing, and presenting of news material for publication or broadcast) that creates images in order to tell a news story. It is now usually understood to refer only to still images, but in some cases the term also refers to video used in broadcast journalism. The job is located in Orlando Florida for Brighthouse sports network. The amount expected to made is about $40,000-$50,000 annually. The skills needed are a keen eye, a way with words, and a knack for putting the two together. You must have a steady hand, when holding a camera. The education requirement is at least a bachelors degree in photography. technical experience and a portfolio is required.
