Pathos
School uniforms have be common common an many schools. Some students feel as though it tarnishes their individuality and that it promotes everybody to be alike. School uniforms kills students wants to be different, it also blocks anyone's chances of expressing who they really are. Students feel as though school just wanna have more control than they already have which is why they implement school uniforms. The best way to let student express themselves and not get their individuality destroyed is to get rid of uniforms.

Introduction to persuasion
Persuasive media can be found everywhere, some of it is subliminal and a person can be getting persuaded and not even know it. The most popular form of persuasive media are television commercials. Commercials are set advertisements by company's that mostly use humor and music to persuade buyers to buy their product.
Another form of persuasive media are internet advertisements.specific internet ads are place on a specific type of website that company's think will appeal to the buyer. For example someone may be browsing to buy some sneakers online an ad my appear on the sidebar of the website that might say "cheap shoes click here".
In my opinion I think that Television commercials are the most effective form of persuasive media. I say this because The humor and fun toons they often have makes a buyer want get the product and relate to what the saw on the commercial. I think that internet ads are the least effective because they are unappealing and annoying. When internet ads pop up most people immediately exit them out and never get to so what it has to offer.

First amendment freedoms
On March 3, 2006 Mathew Snyder a marine deployed in Iraq died in a non combat vehicle accident. On March 10, 2006 the Funeral of Mathew Snyder took place. While the funeral was happening Fred phelps and the Westboro Baptist church (WBC) decided to picket the Funeral. While Picketing took place they said things to "America is doomed", "Fag Troops", "Semper Fi fags", "God hates you", "Your going to hell", and "Thank god for dead soldiers".
Albert Snyder, the father of Mathew Snyder took offense and felt that Phelps violated The Snyder's privacy. Albert Snyder said "They turned this funeral into a media circus and wanted to hurt my family. They wanted their message to be heard and they didn't care who they stepped over. My son should have been buried in dignity not with a bunch of clowns outside." Albert Snyder sued Fred Phelps and his daughters Rebecca Phelps-davis, and Shirley Phelps-Roper. He sued Them for defamation, intrusion upon seclusion, publicity given to private life, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and civil conspiracy.
Fred phelps felt that his actions were not wrong at all because all of their actions took place on a public sidewalk and they were only expressing their opinion. Albert Snyder's argument was that Fred Phelps caused emotional distress and the memory of his son will always be associated to the acts of Phelps. Albert Snyder thought that Phelps had no place at the funeral.
Initially The jury found for Albert Snyder and he was awarded $2.9 million in compensatory damages, $6 million in punitive damages for invasion of privacy, and $2 million for causing emotional distress. Later an appeal was filed and the fourth circuit ruled that the lower court had erred by instructing the jury to decide a question of law rather than fact (specifically, whether or not the speech in question was protected by the first ammendment.) Albert Snyder had to $16,510 in court costs.
My opinion to this verdict is that it is absurd, Personally I think that Fred Phelps Caused so Much pain toward the Snyder Family. Phelps also caused unwanted attention towards the funeral. I think that Fred Phelps should have had to pay the $16,510 in court cost plus an amount towards Albert Snyder.

Slander and libel
The television reporter is definitely guilty of defamation of character. Just because the witness could not describe the details of the scene it gave the reporter no right to say that the witness was intoxicated. The reporter should have just stated that the witness could not provided any details, and then dismissed the witness properly. The proper outcome to this case should be a payout from the news station to the witness they wrongly described.

My Code Of Ethics.
1. Do not change the details of the story to make it better.
2. Be fair and respectful to anyone included in the story.
3. Do not offer any gifts to get a story from someone.
4. Provide all sources the information comes from.
5. Be clear and accurate.
I think that these rules would be good because they all would ensure that the articles would have the truth in them and that they are not just useless stories for attention.

Television and Broadcast
The news program that I watched was sports center. Sports center is a daily sports news show, it consist of Highlight from sporting events, commentaries, previews, and feature stories. The broadcast that I watched commentated on a NFL game between the Dallas Cowboys and The Philadelphia Eagles.
I thought that the commentary on the game was very professional, i thought that they did a good job of staying unbiased and stating the facts. The commentators of the game gave both team an fair opinion of what they did and did not do. They stated that the Eagles simply outplayed the Cowboys. This was true, it wasn't the fact that the cowboys played badly it was just that the eagles did their homework and came and played harder.

News media is media that has a main objective to deliver news to the public. News media include internet, radio, television, and newspaper. Each element has its own unique characteristics that make it popular to people. they are also similar in some ways too.
Television news consist of journalist and reporters gathering information and presenting it on a news show. One popular way Television news stations gather information is by interviewing witnesses of the news they are reporting. The news stations also use news clips captured by by their cameras and sometimes captured by helicopters.
Two other forms of media are newspaper and internet. Newspaper include sections such as sports, opinion pages, news reports or analysis, and entertainment guides. Internet news can come in forms of blogs, news stations have websites and post news that way, On the internet you can also find some video footage of news media.
These forms of media are all similar because they all find a way to get out important information to people. When people need to hear Information these forms of media are all the first places they look. The difference between these forms of media in my opinion is what seperates them. One difference is the popularity and credibility. The internet is most popular form because of its accessibility but it sometimes on particular sites mostly blogs credibility is lacking and it sometimes tells false information. The internet is also on different because it posses basically all of the other forms within it. On the internet you can find some part of television you can find parts of news paper, and you can also find radio.

Response to "Illusion of pain" by Joe Posnanski
Mr Joe Posnanski I liked the way you analogized boxing with another sport like football to show how situations can be similar. One thing i didn't like about that though was more than half of the article was about football. I can understand if it was meant to compare two sports, but it wasn't.I also how didn't like how you criticized what people wore to boxing matches obviously its common and it shouldn't be an issue. I think that you should have spoken more about the boxing match that took place since your first phrase in the article was "This will be about boxing,".
When you actually began to talk about the boxing match between Floyd Mayweather, and Victor Ortiz you stated that Mayweather outclassed Ortiz the first three rounds. I think that you should have explained what Mayweather did to outclass him. Also Your article was very one sided and you didn't give Mayweather the credit he deserved for the win. This article would have been much better if it was more about the boxing match and less bias about how Mayweather's win came.

Broadcast-Radio
The Broadcast was about how the mall of america racially profiled a Pakistani man to be a terrorist. The mall of america said that it wasn't any racial assumptions involved. they said that they target people that show suspicious activity. From this broadcast i learned that there are programs that try to find terrorist in public places.
The broadcast was given by Daniel zwerdling, and Margot Williams. I learned that They are both correspondents in a company named NPR investigative system. The two reporters both hqave experience in news and broadcasting it.
In the broad cast the sources that were used were the actual people involved in the incident. The had interviews with the victims to find out what actually happened. I think this was a credible source because they got the actual story from the actual people without any skewed details.

Print-Newspapers.
Newspapers can either come in a daily or monthly rotation. The difference between the two is that one of them is published each day and the other is published each month. A daily newspaper has news of things that have happened within the last 24 hours. It can include section such as sports, opinion pages, news reports or analysis, or an arts and entertainment guide. Much of the paper used to make the millions of newspapers is recycled.
In order for newspapers to be successful they have to have price tag to them. One way newspapers make money is by subscription. If a person has a subscription to a newspaper they pay a monthly fee and get the newspaper either monthly, daily , or weekly. Another way newspaper make money is when it is idepently bought at a bodega or corner store. Most people that buy newspaper this way usually do when they want to know a specific news topic, or they dont want to subscribe to a newspaper.
Credibility is really important in newspapers. In order to ensure credibility journalist have to follow specific rules. One way to ensure credibility is to name sources the information has come from. Another way to ensure credibility to is to quote anyone involved in the topic of the article.

What is News?
I think that news is any current information that is spread to people around the world. News can be in many different forms. Some common forms of news are newspapers, magazines, tv, radio, and internet. Different people may be interested in different types of news like politics or news about their favorite celebrity.
News is a form of communication. It is different from other forms of communication because it can be distributed to a wide range of people in a short period of time unlike the common person to person communication. An example of this is when something needs to be addressed to the country immediately it is always broadcasted on a national news station or news paper.
The way news has spread hasn't always been the same as it is now. In earlier years the fastest way for news to be spread was by horseback and this method took weeks to distribute the news. Fortunately newer and efficient ways of news have been invented so that we can hear about news as soon as it happens.

Who are Journalist?
A journalist collects information about current events people trends and issues and spreads it. the objective of journalist is to inform the people around them. Usually for most professions a specific license for their occupation Fortunately journalism isn't one of those professions. Although there are many journalism schools to improve skills and make better journalist it is not required.
When most people think of journalist they think of a author of a newspaper article, all though these are journalist they are not the only kind. There are some journalist that do more than just write articles. For example a photographer takes pictures of current events. Another example is a Reporter, reporters spread news by talking to a camera so it can be broadcast to millions of people.
In my opinion everybody is a Journalist. I say this because at some point in time everyone has spread some news to everybody. I think in order to be a Journalist all you need is accurate information and somebody to tell it to. You don't have to be getting paid to be considered a journalist.

Evolution of American Journalism.
Journalism the act of reporting, writing, editing photographing, or broadcasting news. In the early years of journalism it was mostly done by hand. It took much longer than it does today. Over time Journalism has evolved from writing by hand to typewriters to computers. With the use of computers it makes it easier to edit and share information.
All of journalism is protected by the first amendment. The first basically says congress cannot make any laws respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Although journalist do not work for the government, the government is what allows them to do their job.
One of the first american newspapers was Benjamin Franklins Poor Richard’s Almanack. This newspaper was a succesful one. It was succesful because it had items in it the interested the people like, weather reports, puzzles, proverbs or suggestions, and other tips for living in the colonies. Benjamin Franklins for of news is still somewhat used today.
